I recently joined the Department of Sociological Studies as a Lecturer in Digital Media and Society at the University of Sheffield. I also serve as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Digital Media and Policy. Previously, I was a SSHRC Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Arts, Culture and Media at University of Toronto, Scarborough.
Broadly speaking, I research the political economies of communication, media policy and regulation, and the Chinese internet. I have also worked on the Canadian Media Concentration Research Project, York Centre of Asia Research and Canadian Spectrum Policy Research Project.
Mar. 2021 My postdoc project on Chinese Platform Power is awarded a two-year competitive Postdoctoral Fellowship by Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

Oct. 2020 I passed dissertation defence with no revision.
